I'm replacing the half shaft on a 06 Grand Prix non super charged 6 cylinder, I got everything out good but I can't seem to be able too get the new on to seat its on the passenger side , I can get the spline part i. About a quarter of the way but it won't go anymore so I'm woundering is the like some type of grease I can use to help it slide in or is there something I'm missing thanx ..

it should just push in and click. make sure the splines on the new shaft are ok. aka clean and smooth. if its a reman axle it could have some damage inside.

Yea I can get it to were I can rotate the tranny but it easily pulls back out . Is it usally hard to push the new one In because I've tried several times and were the spline turns into a solid cylinder it won't go any further you no of any grease I could use or maybe a tool that is used thanx

I normally just get it started and give it a quick shove to get it past the snap ring dealio and it goes in just fine.

Out of a weird chance, they didnt sell you the wrong axle now did they. You could look up the part number you have with the part number on the website from where you bought it to make sure it's correct. But I don't think thats the issue here.

it will take a bit of a shove to make it click. you'll feel it click, then try to pull it back out. if it dont come back out, its clipped in.

double check your part # like five said, it cant hurt.

The passenger side appears as if it's not in all the way. If it goes in and the compression clip holds it, then it's in all the way. Take a look at the compression clip, is it weak or missing?

Thank you all gor your responses I have taken in back and made sure seems to be right it's a new day so I'm going to go back and give it a better shot thanx
