• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

CV Joints are going i believe

is it? i think thats what it said on green bastards writeup. he uses a slide hammer which i will probably pick up if its not too much money. and then i just need to pick up a ball joint seperator

are you saying not to pry it out (crowbar method) i always thought that seemed too forceful.....im assuming tappin it out is a better method...

You don't necessarily put much force on it. Just enough pressure and then tapping to get the ring to pop out. I do it by hand first and if that doesn't work then put a small bar in there and a couple of yanks then maybe a rotation of the axle and it should come out.

if you take out the axle and you see the shaft come out too, stop! the ring clip from the other axle will smash the oil slinger inside the middle of the trans which feeds the diff...i know because i changed my old diff when i blew it up and no one told me this until after the install. the trans lasted 6 months before the planetary gears went supernova and sent tons of metal into my trans like the big bang theory. the best way ive seen so far is the crowbar method with a quick jerk and it will pop right out
