• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Cutting fuel lines

It is entirely possible to mod a stock L67 rail for a topswap so as to mate up to L36 lines (and make room for an IC) without any twisting / kinking / bending / modification on the lines:

hmm, I don't know, I think I liked all of the fittings better.

Ha ha, yes I was sporting this for awhile:

But me no trusty cheapo brass single-ferrule compression fittings.

Steel swagelok-style dual-ferrule fittings would be better, but also bulky and very expensive, even for knock-off brands.

Brazed tubing extensions = clean, cheap, and reliable.

I was talking more about this :D:

I was planning on doing something more like your second version, but sounds like that's not a good idea?

Oh yeah, that piece 'o bling was just a proto-prototype to get the angles and routing right before cutting and bending tubing; never installed and run in that configuration. :th_laugh-lol3:

Even my second version with only two fittings had two issues:
1) Under WOT pressure, the fitting on the feed line would weep gas ever so slightly. :(
2) That long, extended, return bend line was so heavy the whole return line was starting to sag/bend under the weight.

The first issue could probably be solved with Swagelok, but not the second. Further, to mod that rail for an IC would have required at least 4 more Swagelok fittings, now we're talking some money.

The third version uses a brazing technique to extend the steel lines. Working out great so far.

But unless the OP is interested in keeping his stock lines and is looking for a cheap top-swap fuel rail solution, I think I'm helping to take this thread off-topic. :th_lipssealed1:

Anyone have part numbers for the fittings to adapt from the AN line to the fuel rail? I had them in my cart at Summit and then they went and changed their website and it dumped my cart.

I think he's going to stick with the modded.

What brand do you perfer and I will look them up for you.

I understand, hence why I'm going with modded rails.

So, anyone have those part numbers for adapting to the stock rail fittings? I thought they were in the How-to thread, but I looked and couldn't find the part numbers.
