I want my 01 GP to have a nice trunk i have subs and an amp and i want a new cd deck soon, but after I hook everything up where do i start? Does anyone know a website that has prints or something I can go off of to get some ideas. I would appreciate any help whatsoever, I have seen pics and I am good with wood and metal work.. I want to build it myself, materials and price is not an option for me i dont care really as long as I do it..
THanks

the best thing to do is figure out how you want it to look in the end. start with the sub enclosure so you know how big it is and the position of the subs and port if there will be a port. then desice on you amp placement. fell free to ask me for ideas or help. i have been in the car audio industry for over 10 years.

I'm going to mount my amp upside down in the trunk. I've done it with an alpine 4x40, and it fit perfectly in the square dip under the 3rd brake light.

Now I have a JL 300/4v2, I will mount it to a cutom fit mdf board, 3/4 inch, that hopefully will span the entire underside of the rear deck. (photos soon)

Eventually I want to add a thin mount sub (JL 12TW5 or 13TW5), centered under the rear deck, facing down. It requires a 4 inch mounting depth, made out of 3/4 mdf. Probably make it 6 inches total (4.5 mounting + 1.5 inches of mdf (2x3/4)). Amps on both sides, 500/1v2 for the sub, both facing down, along with a capacitor.

I just want to keep the components out of the way, and retain my trunk space.

In my impala i got rid of the spare tire, dropped the amp down there, put a piece of plexy in the tire cover to allow you to see the amp, had 2 LED strips on the underside of the cover to shine on the amp. carpeted it. I have a pic or two when i was still working on it but it was done for the most past.
