Custom front engine mount V2.

So finally got around to getting the front made the way i wanted it. The local fab shop is also intrested in doing more of these if i can bring in enough people. The mounts use a 2 piece Poly bushing, and the mount itself is 2 piece. For the future though we would like to use either honda or nissan rubber mounts.

If the community is serious enough i can get a couple of these made, i burned up alot of gas and time looking around for a bushing solution and ordering new mounts for the fabrication, so if any of you are serious post in this thread and i can get the ball rolling.

i think i know the answer, but where exactly is it meant to be mounted? pictures for those of us that are less informed? cost estimates based on what quantity?

Yes pics of just where this mounts. If it is to take the place of the torque strut mount and mounts straight into the radiator support it won't work. The radiator support is designed to support weight from downward pressure not outward pull. 31 yrs in structural engineering just saying.

Finally got it installed tonight have to wait for tommorow to drive her...
By next week I'll be able to fully test the mount at the drag strip finally. I'll also be able to get more steel etc and be able to get a ballpark price from the fab shop...stay tuned gentleman

Have you ever considered making actual solid mounts?

I have solid metal mounts on my Stealth and they really shored up the front end and helped wheel hop. There is a little more vibration, but it is almost unnoticeable after a day or so.

Not sure how applicable this would be on the W body platform though.

did you paint it to keep it from rusting?
Yes sir

I just don't see solid mounts. Especially on a aluminum subframe. I think with a aluminum block the engine needs a little bit of play

The 3800 guys would likely benefit a lot more from stuff I did with the Bonnie mount which is close to what others did recently to mount to the subframe. but that's for another thread. If you 3800 guys are interested... start a thread and point me to it. I'm happy to share info/experience on it.
