custom cold air intake blueprint

A few years ago I found a page dedicated to '97-? Grand Prix GTP's that had a detailed blueprint/diagram on how to build a cold air box/intake behind the drivers headlight to isolate the intake air from engine air. This was an extremely detailed drawing that the person supplying the dimensions made using sheet metal. I have recently found a shop that will build it for me, but I need those dimensions and pic. Please help me find this info so I can have one built.

Thank you.

those fender well intakes cause more problems than they are worth. the filter gets gummed up with road debris, and as soon as the air gets to the supercharger it get's super heated, so spending money there is a waste. I have a cone filter on the end of my throttle body and you would be hard pressed to show a car making much more power

Or just build one in the engine bay because there is no difference in power to be had from a CAI and a HAI.

A 20º temp difference does nothing when it gets super heated buy the supercharger anyway.

True. There isn't much to be gained but maybe a little bit of a difference? I don't know. Looks bad-ass when you pop the hood tho

I popped my hood for an oil change. Not sure how many people pop their hood just to look an their engines lol.

Maybe I'm different or something because underhood looks aren't a big deal to me.

All the time, sometimes I rest on the core support and just stare at everything.

Damn. I haven't come across an intake like that on here before. It doesn't look like that set-up will be cheaper then a box around a cone though. That is a pretty PRO set-up in that link there.

@5-Finger - Under-hood looks aren't that important to me either, but might as well make it look cool if you're gonna be doing somewhat custom work. For people that don't know about cars, a huge pipe running into the fender, connected to the engine, looks pretty impressive I would think.

@ItHurtz - Definitely dude. I do a lot of starring at the engine myself... Looking into what's gonna break on me next. LOL, for real.

In the bigger box you cut it out, the panel filter will still fit or you can add a piece of pcv pipe and a cone filter in there. I remember the write up your talking about but I don't remember where it was, a lot of the old local club sites aren't up anymore :(

I have an unrelated question; how do you like the corsa exhaust? I've had borla before. I'll need something new on this one. Was wondering how the sound compares.

try this

Cool. Take it that's for a 97-03? I don't have anything to use the .igs extension.

the Corsa is a great exhaust. nice and quiet at idle, no drone at all during cruise, but very throaty at full throttle.
the IGS file is a IGES 3D CAD file. You need autodesk or solid works or some other CAD viewer.
