What a project it will be. :th_laugh-lol2:
The wife has always liked foxbodies and the time has come for her to finally have her own toy. Her criteria was convertible, 5.0, and a manual. This was a bit challenging as most were pretty beat or you had to pay top dollar for one in immaculate shape. She didn't want one in immaculate shape, but overall decent shape with decent interior without breaking the bank that she could work on over time. This would give her the opportunity to eventually make the car her own. After looking for several weeks and talking the seller down $2500 she got what she wanted. It's gonna need a bit of work, but it's a running and driving project that she can cruise while she makes it her own.

First thing she will be doing is getting rid of the ghetto ass wire wheels. Can't imagine why she doesn't like the gangster look. For the most part the car is stock aside from the tubular intake manifold, stut bar, roll bar, and straight pipes to turn downs. She has her work cut out of her, but she's happy and glad she has something to cruise around in instead of riding shotgun. Was quite the drive home and suprisingly enough all gauges work and it drives very smooth. I must have passed about 5 other mustangs and can only imagine what was going through the drivers head.

Now who wants to pimp their ride with some wire wheels? Selling em' cheap.

First thing she did was pull the wing and bra off. Trying to get the wire wheels off was a PITA as the tool that came with the car was home made and wouldn't sit on the wheel correctly. Found a local shop that had the tool in stock and was able to pick it up from them.

In the meantime she bought some factory 4 lug wheels. Cause you know the car probably doesn't have a 5 lug conversion done. *cue forshadowing*
Got them all cleaned up to put them on.

Heres the tool that fits snug on the center to remove the wheels:

For those not too familiar with Foxbodys they come factory with 4 lugs. So Daniele and I jumped the gun on finding some wheels for the fox. We bought factory ones thinking a 5 lug swap wasn't done. As chance would have it I kept the HP design wheels off my turbo Grand Prix.

Crappy cell pic due to horrible lighting. It will give you guys an idea of what it looks like. Some plast dip is still on the wheels and needs to be finished getting peeled off. We will get some better pictures at a later time.

Most of the dip is off, but the creveces where the rivets are still have some caked on. No day pics, as the evening was spent using lots of elbow grease. Wheels need to be refinished and it's on the list of things to do.

Getting new tires put on since the other ones were well worn from having all the fun in the TGP.

Now that the tires and wheels are out of the way. We will move on to the suspension. End goal is to have a crusier she can take to meets, drive on weekends, and take to car shows. Got some work ahead, but should be fun nonetheless.

I would have had trouble spotting the diamond behind those wheels and wing. Good job.

BTW.. did you already play the song in the car?

V8 foxbodies were 5 lug. I have a buddy who is a nut about them and I have lost count how many he has owned. His current drag car was 4 cylinder and 4 lug. We swapped parts off of a V8 he had parted out to make it 5 lug.

Not a fan of the color, but it appears to be a decent paint job. I guess that is the advantage of buying it from someone who left it stock and was more worried with the cosmentics.

That wing was awful, wire wheels didnt go with that paint color...would have looked a lil better on a black or red car. Either way, nice find. I have a soft spot for fox bodies as well, I want a notchback with the 5.0...

Wire wheels > all other wheels

Nice find
I don't drive to the ghetto side of town often enough to warrant keeping them.

haha, trust me i doubted how it would turn out especially the green.

So awesome, I've always loved foxbodies. All it needs now is an LSx of sorts :D
Shhhhh we can't have it faster than Chevy's flagship car.

Incorrect, they were 4 lug(minus the Cobra and Saleen) V8 or 4 cylinder.... stock. Your buddy most likely used parts off of a 94 or newer mustang.

Notchbacks are great cars. You will really enjoy it when you finally get one. You want a 4 eye or later model notch?

Paint actually looks pretty good...recently redone?

Mileage?
odometer is right around 98,0000. Who knows could be 198k or 298k. Paint looks better in the pics, it's a 20 footer.

I know what you got her a fox body cause the vette will beat it when she feels like challenging you lol
shhhh. Let's not put ideas in her head if she logs on.

I will second that all fox bodies, other than Saleen and Cobra, were 4 lug. Why do you think they sell 5 lug conversions?

And a picture straight from wikipedia showing a 4 lug 5.0.

Not the pic you asked for above but had to go here given the title....

Loved Vanilla Ice's part in "Thats My Boy" btw. You have to check it out if you haven't seen it, or at least Youtube it. A nice lil cameo by a 5.0...lol
