cruise module needs lubrication??

I'm getting a noise when cruise is engaged, and as throttle moves to meet the set speed.
It's not heard usually, but on relatively fine pavement and in night, I can hear it. The noise is consistent with the pedal movement, and sounds like the wire is not lubed(?). I try not to use cruise after I noticed this,, and I'd very appreciate if anyone can help me what to do..
I would guess this isn't normal.. is it?

It's 98 GT..
Thanks,
MK

PS - I'm not sure I'm posting it in right section.. Please move if needed.

I thought about it, but where? right on the cable? the module seems to be consealed.

I have never heard of anything like this.

But you hear a noise that is not really heard. So sounds like it is really faint to me. Could just be the regular operation of the cruise. But it can't hurt to lubricate the cable. Just remove it from the TB, spray it with some kind of lubricant (I would go with graphite or white grease, not WD40). And then work the cable back and forth.

See if that helps.
