• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Cruise KR, and a lot of it.

Get a small piece of wire so you can probe the contacts for the fp relay and check for 12V. But try the battery disconnect and relearn first.

how can I clear the DTC's if I can't even get the car to start?

Aeroforce won't turn on for an extended period of time with the car off. Car needs to be running.

did you un hook the battery before swapping the pcm's?

maybe the high speed resistor took a dump? bend that tab out on the relay yet?

Car does not need to be running, you can clear DTC's and run the aeroforce with KEY ON engine off

That's what I just hit me. I didn't unplug the battery when I swapped PCM's the first time. Would that cause an issue?

Next step is to jump the relay.

I'll give it a try, but last time I turned the key on engine off, the aeroforce lit up, but shut off 10 seconds later.

Going to give that a try right now.

What about not unplugging the battery first before swapping PCM's? Is that going to cause some kind of Crank, no start issue?

Think I found the issue.

-Bent the tab to run the pump at full speed, still no start.
-Cleared any codes I had with the aeroforce, still no start.
-Removed the fuel pump relay and jumped the relay with a small wire, and heard the whole fuel system kick on.

Fuel pump relay must have taken a sh*t. Odd how it did this when I swapped PCMs though?

Ouch should have mentioned disconnecting the battery. It may or may it be a problem, but always disconnect the battery any time you switch out a component that could be powered.

so Scotty doesn't the system start by bypassing the resistor to start? 85 is the negative relay coil so basically it stays normally closed, which would mean that this relay handles high/low speed and there must be another that turns on the fuel pump. Is this correct?

Kinda like my injector sticking open right after a supercharger swap. It happens especially with higher current relays. I've sat on th side of the road and dismantled a relay with a pocket knife and rubbed the contacts together to get it to work to get me home before when I had no other tools.

Mat least it's just a relay.... For now.

Lesson learned on not unplugging the battery, especially for such a critical component. Luckily, I think everything came out okay besides the relay, but I'll take that over a bigger issue.

What should have been a 5 minute job, turned into a 3 hour diagnostic testing.

That's why I grabbed a pocket full of relays last time I was at the yard. Nice to have in the glovebox for times like this.

you too? After that I have been doing just that now they slide all over the place along with my pistol. Now I went and put my IWB holster in there with Velcro since all them parts and the pistol isn't very smart even though it's DAO and has a heavy trigger.

This lol! I do this all the time.. Sure beats having to order most of those relays (fuel pump for example) since it seems none of the parts store carry them in stock.. Usually only the small common mini fuses.

Autozone carries the fuel pump relay for my car, but cost me $18. WTF.

Anywho, knock sensors are plugged back in and the ZZP PCM is installed. Once I get the car running and buttoned up, I'll come back with some info on the Cruise Knock.

Stop by 3 parts stores the other day looking for one and none of them had one in stock, yea they could order it but I'm not spending $20 on a fuse just to troubleshoot then I remember the zip lock bag of fuses I've gathered from JY cars over the years :)

Dude if you have another car and a pick-n-pull close to you then it would worth the time to pull a many of the little ones the larger ones and some fuses. You'll get out of there under $20. I think last time I got some they were .75 each. For relays and fuses were free, or they didn't charge me for them.
