x2. if you like the yamaha get the r1. take it from me you would wish you invest in it. bikes today are not like yesterdays dinosaurs. they are fully computerized and would only respond to what you wrist command it to do. respect it and you would be in full control. you would not even feel the additional 60lbs getting on the bike and riding. utmost, you would get more respect on a r1.Jason DO NOT GET A 600. lol, okay. most dudes on liter bikes that i see are squid central. no one knows how to truely ride their bikes anymore. its a damn status symbol, just like owning an escalade.
besides, a good rider would demolish anyone on a liter bike with a 600 all day long unless you were going fast in a straight line (read: boring).
gtpinsc- Take it from a couple people who actually ride. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO BUY A LITER BIKE, UNLESS YOU PLAN ON DIEING.
obviously he is not just looking to buy a bike to ride. he's looking for a status symbol! probably, he's going to join a local kickstand motorcycle crew! someone mention to much power, really can we ever have to much power! todays 600's are equivalent to yesterday's 1000 when it comes to power. a 600 would go up just as fast as a 1000. its all in the clutch and throttle. even if you chose a 600 respect it, cause it will hurt you . final quote, if you really ride, you going to fall, even if its at a red light!!!take a first time riders course if available........ps. i started of with a r6 my bike today is a ninja zx12r.im about to buy my first bike in january. im leaning towards a 2010 R6 burnt orange and black. anyways.. anyone ever owned or ridden one?
