Crossover and DP

I honestly dont know, i havent started to mock things up. Is it FOR SURE gonna be a problem or do just some people have problems with it hitting?

With a 3" mos deff a problem. Trying to run the pipe down to the exhaust will result in issues with the booster and the rear valve cover. Even the 2.5" dp's only have a few cm's clearance either way.

Well sh!t. Looks like im going to the junkyard. Oh well, i WILL have 3" downpipe. Lol.

What is your setup?

For this year?

CT I/C kit PT-61 (Maybe go ebay gt45 with you two lol)
Open dump wastegate
uhm no exhaust just turbo, 2 ft of pipe then ground lol
STr something cam? .575/570" Duration @ .050" is 230/230 lol Matt's old one for the race car.
#130 valve springs, manly retainers yada yada (May do #150's cam has potential to rev over 7k doubt I ever would though rofl)
Ported heads by Chico for .600 lift clearance
#65's, stock pump (#80's if I E85)
18psi street (pump gas)
L36 stock bottom end (9.5:1 cpr)
Custom tune

& another stock probably non HD trans (for the 3.29 gears ;) )

Just going for a mid 400whp daily with the ability to go further in the future

Maybe meth? idk C-16 prob when I get giddy and wanna smell the sweetness. Plus the blue color is uber cool lmao!

If you need an hd differential on the cheap, LMK i can hook it up. If interested of course. Yea the cartuning kit looks good i just dont like the retarded crossover design. You have powerlogs?

Nope stock manifolds. CT kit places wg on the rear mani so I couldn't run two powerlogs without modding the rear one. Idk I guess I'm stuck in the LSx mindset where running the cast mani's resulted in more power then running headers or stainless mani's. The whole "holding the heat" thing,

Yes the cross over is dumb but the kit cost me 1600 so idc lol. I hate the way it angles the turbo not allowing any room between the headlight bracket and turbo... I don't have a welder so I couldn't whip up a custom kit anyways. I wish though :(

There are no real restrictions on the kit other then the dp but its fine for what I want as of now. The I/C is actually really efficient too.

PM meabout the diff.

Yea, the rear manifold isnt the problem, its the front cast one. I know you could probably bolt on a plog but if you arent having troubles with it then screw it. I just got really good deals on the two ceramic coated stainless powerlogs so i couldnt resist.

I know the heat on the front combustion chambers and I may in the future.

Nice find dude!

That front stock mani is going to hold you back some, but plogs go for the price of knockoff headers these days and are the welds on those are ****. I'm running ct kit with front powerlog and reworked rear manifold, with the #6 primary turned toward the crossover. The problem with that is its a ***** to get to cylinder #6 spark plug with the wastegate there and primary in the way. I haven't had any problems with the plog yet tho.

Did you just run the CT kit wastegate perch and run a pipe from the wastegate to ground? I've been thinking about this but not sure if I should have a perch made without the flex section.

You should be able to get the smaller booster from 01+ montes/impalas

If you are doing the rear wastegate perch, i wouldnt think you need a flex section, as it moves with the engine.

Yeah, the CT kit already has a flex section between the wastegate and where it connects to the the rear manifold because it connects to the upper downpipe. It would be easier just to leave the flex there and just make a dump tube off of the wastegate and close up the dp. If you get rid of the flex section and make a new perch, you have to consider how high or low you can place it to be able to get at the rear spark plugs and easier access to the wastegate itself.

I blew the welds off the dump tube for the wg so in place I welded up a 02 bung for my wideband cut the dump tube about 3 in welded up a straight piece with a bend and ran it down about a foot. Like the z3 kit.

Well i ordered the stuff for the downpipe today, cost me $100 shipped. It consists of :

3.25" v band
3" downpipe
3" stainless flex section
3" stainless cat

Just ordered the bov, waiting to order the wastegate as i emailed the seller and going to see if he has a smaller spring than 12psi.

Lol, well im gonna start off small besides you want a small wastegate spring then increase the boost with a controller.
