Crosslaced GP wheel years

Hi all,

Have lurked a bit in here the past, but I spend most of my time over at Bonnevilleclub.

I was hoping someone could clarify for me which years of GP's in the nineties ran the 16x8 crosslace/web style rim. I may have mistakenly purchased ($40) what I thought were 92-99 Bonneville wheels, but in fact may be GP rims. With a crack in one, will need to find a single, so the range of years would be helpful. Thanks

they came on the 97-99's.

if you read, he said 16x8. the crosslaces on the 97+ wbodies are definitely not 8" wide. try again.

Did a little digging, looks like 89-96 were the years for the 16x8 crosslace's.

Did the GP's ever get gold laces? I need to get eyes on these things with a tape measure to know for sure, since they're at another location, and I won't get there until the week-end. Cheers.

hey man..most of the 90-91 se grand prixs had gold crosslaced wheels..the 97-03 style were a twisted crosslaced style and 7" wide..the early ones are 8" and ive seen gold and silver centers on them.. idk if the turbo car ones are wider though..i can measure up my set if youd like.. ive had the joy of hunting one gold wheel myself before..then i ended up with two extra sets ..lol

So close, but off a little. 97-03 "twisted" crosslaces are 6.5" wide.

Early options DID go from 89-96 with the crosslace 16x8s, NP6 RPO Code, came in a multitude of Silver options, black or blue accents, bright finish, regular aluminum, and gold.

I do believe the turbos were the ones usually with the sough after "pre-gen" ones with a wider offset for a more aggressive look, basic 5 spokes with PONTIAC engraved in one spoke, but they were only 16x7s and only available for 94-96.

OP Fortunately if they look like the ones you want, they are the ones you want assuming the finish is the same, that is the only difference in that year range. All other wheels are vastly different. Good luck.

thanks for the clarification man!.. i've been doing the 1st gen cars for awhile and im learning about the new body as we speak..i've got TGP wheels im going to be working over soon and i have pre-gen se crosslaces that i swear are identical but i have to measure them to be sure..

As it turns out, the GP owner I bought wheels these from, had apparently gotten himself some Bonneville rims for a second set. So 16X7 it is, and I've already gotten a fourth for $60, and its easily worth it, with just some clear damage at the weight, and a minor curb scrape. I'm well into getting the lips of all rims cleaned of the clear and the crud, but I'm heading to calgary for Christmas, so the job is now on hold. Thanks for the info guys.
