Crooked Balljoint

Hi, having a horrible time with my balljoint.

I have one of those rental press tools from my local autoparts, and the balljoint is going in crooked :th_skull:. It is in most the way, and on a scale of a little-to-a-lot, is a little crooked. I have access to an actual press tomorrow, I'm thinking about just pressing it in the rest of the way (1/4" more), and hoping it seats flush once it's all the way down. Any similar experiences out there I can pull some advice from??

Thanks--

Hope you put grease on it or sprayed some kind if lubrication before you started. It should straighten out once it bottoms out.

For future reference, I'm pretty sure most people just skip the work and replace the whole control arm since they're pretty cheap.

Wait what are you pressing? the ball joint should just slide and bolt into the control arm, and then just fit right into the spindle with the crown nut holding it secure. there really shoulden't be any need for a press.

What year is this car?
Front or back joint?

Only asking to clarify for the guys wondering how the heck you are pressing something that most think of as bolt in. Because..most only consider the 97-08's.

Reason I asked was ...there are other years, often most of us assume 97-08. And I wasn't aware of any of those years having one that is press in, only bolt in.
