Amazing new tires.........................
Michelin Tires... Absolutely SCARY looking... Look for 'em in August.
These tires are made in South Carolina , USA .
SEE THROUGH TIRES
Radical new tire design by Michelin.
The next generation of tires.
They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show.

Yes, those are 'spoke' like connections to the inner part of the tire from the outside tread 'wrap!' The next picture shows how odd it looks in motion...

Makes you wonder how the ride feels doesn't it?

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.
The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these.
Just think of the impact on existing technology:
A. no more air valves...
B. no more air compressors at gas stations...
C. no more repair kits...
D. no more flats...
These are actual pictures taken at the South Carolina plant of Michelin

I've seen a video on those a while back, pretty cool tires. The only thing that would keep me from getting a set is the lack of a sidewall, if they made them look normal I'd think about getting a set...

Useless in the winter. Ice/snow frozen in the air spaces will make for a seriously interesting ride. Remember the square stone wheels on the Flintstones? Probably feel like that. =P

That's one reason why they should add a "sidewall"

Or a top speed run over 200... at 257 with the veyron they said the rubber got so soft it would start coming apart after so long... would these even come close?

A Veyron burns about 1.3 gallons per minute at top speed. It would run out of fuel in 12 minutes in a top speed run so tires won't even have a chance of failure on a top speed run.

The tires they used claimed to be able to last for 15 mins max before burning out... but do you really think these tires would hold up for even 10. I know the 12 minute marker at max...but I made the comment if they would make it to 200+ or even a top speed run for a car like a veyron. If the tires won't make it to the top, whats the point of how much fuel you use.
