• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

crazy but possible......

my previous post was with a car cutting out problem well it did it again today i am looking into it right now here is there weird thing before i thought it was electrical problem well my question is "I some how have trans fluid by the rear fuel injections, could that be leaking into the injector's cutting my car out ?, and how did tran fluid leak up to there?

Now that would be different. You sure its trans fluid? The only way I know even possible for trans fluid to get up there would be if it were coming out of the pressure relief port or whatever its called, and if it were coming out of there I believe it would mean your channel gasket is blown and I dont think you could drive very long like that.

Check the trans fluid level and see where its at. See if there are any signs of transmission fluid around the drivers side or any getting on the ground under the car. Stuff like that. I dont see any other way for trans fluid to get up in that area of the motor.

How long have you had the car? Perhaps some one was filling the trans fluid and let the funnel tip over...trust me I've seen it done:th_lipssealed1:

Highly unlikely though, even with tranny fluid around the injectors that it would be leaking down past the injector orings. Even if this were possible, a scanner would be showing misfires and enough misfires and you'll have an SES.

yea i think someone just spilled some on there before i checked out all the gaskets, but i did find out i have some leaking valve cover gaskets.....so when i replace those would be the perfect time to paint the valve covers, as the car dying thing....... still no solved i disconnected the battery for a while then re hooked it up, i about to go on drive right now if it does it again i will be taking it to a shop first time in the morning, the weird part is that after it sat for about an hour i got a ride back to my car and it started right back up, it boogles my mind

like SS said before, you need to check for spark immediate after it dies... keep some tools with you...

Well Im not into guaranteeing things, but Ive been through the CPS issue enough to feel confident in stating that it sure sounds like your issue is the CPS. I bought my GTP the week I got married and did not have time to replace the CPS, so I bought the sensor and took it with me as we were honeymooning down in Florida. I was just going to have it replaced while I was down there. I tell you now there is no greater fear than driving through downtown Atlanta in heavy traffic as your car starts to buck around as the CPS is cutting in and out. I just knew I was going to get plowed down. Fortunately the car recovered but the tach stopped working and the TCS system turned off.

The CPS is actually two sensors in one. On the back of the harmonic balancer is two reluctor type wheels that the CPS uses for signaling/triggering the CPS. One feeds spark, one feeds the tach signal. On my first CPS the tach side died, my second one, the spark side died.
