Cost is not the factor, chances are you will never find a donor car and i only know of a couple more complete 284s left in the country. But i spent roughly $2,000+

Was the 284 used in the Lumina Z34 I can't remember.

The 284 came from the z34, GP, and Cutlass from 91 to 94.

I personally would find a 282 from 88-90 GP or Cutlass...that trans is easier to find, has many aftermarket parts available, and doesn't take a million dollar clutch.

id personally find a catera and toss in a t5 or better 5spd and end up with the best of the oddest...
