Crank case pressure

Im at a lose here...

Relevant: GenV, IC (front PCV blocked), and a new PCV...

Currently, I have the rear PCV running via vac line from the rear nipple to the TB (post maf, pre blade) and have the front coming from the oil fill cap to the same spot on the TB. The other day going WOT I get the burning oil smell and pull over to see oil everywhere and the dipstick out. I replace the PCV and as of tonight it seemed to have little to no affect on the problem. This is only happening during WOT and is otherwise fine.

Only thing Im thinking of now is blow-by? if thats the case, should I go back to the breather or is there something else I could look at?

Nipple on back of gen 5 actually goes through the supercharger to the front hole that you have plugged or is blocked. It is not unusual to have for the small passage by the boost bypass valve on bottom of supercharger not sealed correctly.

Did you drill the hole in the rear of the manifold for the rear PCV? WBS intercoolers require a hole drilled for the PCV to supply vacuum to crank case.

Cap the nipple on the back of gen 5.

If you have pressure in the crank case and oil all over you are most likely leaking boost and pressure into the crankcase somewhere on the intercooler install.

The rear PCV for the ZZP core is functional, even with a genV on it. ZZP said to hook the rear up in the way I have it and nothing about drilling into the rear valve cover. I didn ask about the front at the time as I was running a breather. I will check the bypass. Youre suggesting the front is ok and the rear needs to be drilled correct?
 
Think I have this figured out...

It looks like everyone has capped the rear nipple and IS tapping the rear manifold for the rear PCV for the genV on genIII cores. Ill try doing some swapping and tapping and see what happens. could I in theory plug the nipple into the TB post maf/blade to as it is technically the evap? Would it make any difference?

sseilmnop: Yes, PCV will work with tiny groove LIM. The gen 5 will work with the gen 3 LIM. Connect nipple on the back of gen 5 to nipple on N* to get PCV to work.



Now I remember where I read to connect the nipple to the TB. This is what you said in post #53 In that thread. This guy has the same setup as I do only I have the LS1 TB instead of N*...

So this is wrong then?
 
You said front hole is plugged in your first post. Does the tiny groove line up with the gen 5 and are you using it?
 
Not sure its been a while since I have seen my UIM, but I read Anthonys post at the very end that I hadn seen the first time reading that thread and it looks like he found the way to do it for the genV on genIII core. From what he said in his post, I should just plug the nipple and have the vac from the front cover to the TB iirc and thats it as the UIM port job is irrelevant apparently.

This could explain my mystery high idle problem... having the nipple attached to the TB and all...
 


Plugging the back nipple officially fixed my high idle situation. Tried going wot today and the the dip stick stayed fine but, oil was still found. I looked around and it appears that the front valve cover on the right side had been pushed out and was coming from there. It could be from before so Ill replace it and see if the problem is fixed.
