Cracked exhaust manifold

If its not one thing its another , I went to get some food and all was fine, then I get back in the car and start it up...and that's when I heard my car sound like I just blew a hole in the pipe , so after checking it out , I noticed the exhaust was cracked in half. So today I went to the wrecking yard and go one off a 95 park avenue 3800.and it works great now.but what could have caused it ???

I've heard of that every now and again I'm not really sure why they do it though. Would have been a good excuse to get headers

If it happens again , I will get some , it was back one looks a little harder to do.easy to put on , the
