Couple of problems on an '07

Got in the wifes 07 GT last night and heard what sounds like a fluid moving around under the hood towards the backside of the engine compartment. I aksed her how long and she told me that it has been going on for a couple of weeks. I checked all the fluids and everything seems ok but am concerned. It happens under acceleration, braking and somewhat while cruising but not as noticable.

She also informed me that occasionally her airbag lights will come on while she is driving and her tire pressure monitoring system will indicate there is a problem then it will clear itself and come on a few days later.

Thoughts and thanks,

What's going on randyb ?? Your noise of liquid might be your heater core , thats what mine did before it went out , your other problem not to sure. Someone should help youout.hope that helps..

Thank you sir. Is the heater core replacement a do-it-yourself type of deal? I try to do most everything myself.

Yeah, your coolant has air in it. Needs to be bled.

I would go on the DIC and reset the TPMS and see if it stops it. If not, one of the sensors is probably bad.

If the coolant bleed doesn't help, clear the drain for the heater box. Dirt will block it up. I think you access it from the firewall, vent area. That was a problem I had on my 07 first time. About a year later the coolant needed bled.

Thanks for all of the input. So I added some coolant as it was a little low and that has helped with the swishing noise but the car still won't produce heat that is warmer than 75 degrees. Things that I have also read that would indicate the heater core is going out would be: humidity in the passenger cabin, moisture in the floorboard. We have neither of those. I am checking hoses this weekend and hoping to find a clog. I will also look for the drain and try to bleed out any air.

As for the lights and indicators, I opened up the cover over the positive battery post and found that it was severely corroded, cleaned it an hoping that helped as well.

I will report back my findings as soon as I find them.
