• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

So, As some have seen. My old transmission bit the dust. I put another one in, It was a freebie we that we had at the shop out of a 98 Buick Park avenue. Car was flood damage.

Engine was used in another car with no problems. So I used the transmission with a new torque converter, Filter and fluids. It had a little water in the transmission which worried me but it was worth a shot. Transmission had been sitting out for a year.

There was no issues at first, Scanned it and i get a handful of codes, I cleared them earlier and they have yet to come back on but I do not know if they will or not, Or if it was just some fluke codes from it sitting with a little water in it.

P0140 (Existing)O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 2
P0443 (Existing Never could figure out the issue) Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Purge Solenoid Control Circuit

New codes

P0716 input turbine speed sensor.

P0717 Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal

P0730 Incorrect Gear Ratio

P1810 automatic transmission fluid pressure Valve Position Switch

Hey Bill, Transmission that was in it had a 911 on the top of the case, New one has 906X i believe

So If my research serves me correctly, My grand prix came with 3.29 gears, The Park Avenue transmission has a 3.05 gear ratio. Do I need to hook up to a Tech2 and change anything? Or do a Case learn?

So No one ever replied. But I thought Id update. after driving about 1000 miles, It stopped throwing codes and started shifting better.

0-90 run. Had a slight misfire from cylinder 1, Bad plug wire. Fixed now. can tell a difference with the 3.03 gears.
