so a classmate that lives by me has a 90's mustang with a V6 that he is always flying down the streets by my house with. i just want to prove a point that his car is slow. (and i know my car is not by any means fast either)

his V6 Mustang mods ($1200)
-cai
-chip
-bbk throttle body
-pulleys that reduce his radio and a/c power usage and brings more power to the cylinders :th_scratchhead: (didnt know of such thing)
thats all according to him i havent seen under the hood yet

me
-stock 3.8 v6

A pulley that reduces radio usage? :th_laugh-lol2::th_laugh-lol2: That's funny.
Although they do make underdrive pulleys that can free up some resistance and create slightly more power.

Stock for stock....don't know. FFDP is probably right though.

dude i smashed 1998 v6 stang that had headers, catback, and cai with my 98 neon r/t that had the same mods. and when i say smashed i mean i beat him at the drag strip by a full second in the 1/4. my 15.05 to his 16.01

stock for stock, it should be close since both cars run low 16's high 15's depending on driver mods.

also depends on year. v6 didnt return until 94. 94/95 yr had 145 hp. 96/98 had 150 1999-04 had 190 hp. 05-10 had 210. and of course the 11 has 305

depending on what mods but i raced both a cobra and a mustang and beat em of course the cobra driver i know who hardly races but he was tryin

^^ Werd..line em up. Safely, of course. If he wins, you did something terribly wrong or he has an engine swap.

It's most likely a udp kit. Obviously doesn't add any horsepower, it just frees up some power from underdriving the accessories. In his case, a horsepower or two. As far as his radio remark, some kits come with an alternator pulley that will negatively effect it's charge. The loss is so minimal though, that unless he's running a stereo system of sorts, he shouldn''t even notice it.

My money would be on you in this race, but don't talk about it....be about it.

The mid-90's V6 Stang is pretty slow. Not as bad as the 4cyl fox, but any decent running 3800na car should beat it. Supercharged cars will tear him apart, hands down.

Easy way to find out? Go run him.

Going to try and get him to tonight.
i know for sure its fords 3.8 with 150hp

basically all his $1200 in mods is giving him what maybe 20hp if lucky?

I would guess less than 5, if any. What "chip" does he have? As far as I know, his car should be similar to ours, it needs a reflash. Either way, it wouldn't do him much good.

The pulley is just an underdrive pulley, been around for years. I doubt they are doing his engine any good though, since they also underdrive the water pump on the 3.8, and that's not a good thing.
