Corvette oil leak.

Ok, in my dads corvette there was an oil leak so we tore it apart and replace all the gaskets between the lower intake manifold to the top of the engine. Once put back together it starts but the oil pressure drops and the car dies. We got it to drive around and now it seems it is still leaking oil. Anyone have some knowledge they could share about these problems? Thanks

What year/engine type is it? A 427, 350, 454, LT1, LSx, etc.. What exactly is leaking oil? Once again, too many places it could leak from depending on the year/engine combo.

They've made an awful lot of vette's for us to guess, especially on a Grand Prix forum ;)

It's a 1991 corvette. Nothing special like a zr1 or z06, just the standard one. I can't think of it off the top of my head. But I'll post it up later today. And that's the problem, we don't know where it is leaking from. We thought it was valve covers first then the LIM gasket so we changed them. But it is still leaking somewhere. We can't even pinpoint where it's coming from exactly but it keeps dripping on to the catlytic converter which is on the drivers side if that helps to diagnos it. And I think we used both the rubber piece it came with and RTV on the top and bottom of that.

Being a 91 its a L98 motor as the LT1 wasn't used til 92... iirc the L98s has problems with Rear Mains so that would be something to look into if its still a factory seal

See, I say things that are right every once in awhile.
