copper rtv cure time

just resealed my crossover on headers, replaced ****ty u bolt clamps with some really nice band clamps from napa... bottle of rtv says 24 hours full cure time... how long should i wait before i drive the car.

I'd say about a day and a half to make sure.

yea, well my dumb ass bein in a hurry decided to take it for a spin after a few hours... it expanded rtv and appears to have maybe given it a better seal... exhaust leak is gone on crossover.. still have a small one in rear manifold area or maybe downpipe/ collector joint.

2hrs I would let it sit then drive it.

for mine theres is no RTV on the front crossover yet it doesnt leak.

No RTV on the back of the y pipe, doesnt leak.

Just RTV then tack welding at the other end. Still no leaks yet.

the RTV sat for maybe an hour before it was driven home. ~20 min drive.
