The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
(Oklahoma City) August 20, 2011 around 6:30pm an OCSO deputy driving westbound on SW 29th Street near S. Pennsylvania Avenue was struck head on by a man driving eastbound in the westbound lane. The deputy received some minor inuries to his leg and his K-9 partner was checked by an emergency veterinary clinic as a precaution.
On August 21, 2011 OHP Troopers arrested and booked Francisco Noriega-Perales (d.o.b. 12/24/1989) for causing the crash. Noriega-Perales was arrested on complaints of:
*Driving under the influence
*Driving left side of road/no passing
*No seat belt
All parties involved in the crash have been medically cleared and will be okay, including K-9 Deputy "Boze".
That is a ****ty situation and I imagine the deputy thought he could do a better job avoiding him by going left, but it is still an illegal move (crossing the double yellow) and exposes him to greater risk, along with legal liability).
when seeing a drunk driver in front of you, your actually supposed to stay in the lane your in. the drunk driver will get scared and be the one who swerves.
Straight would have been trading paint, right like the untrained citizen did would have been the best. We are human, and he made a bad judgement call, but isn't that why they do regular defensive driving training, to be able to figure the best option in split seconds.
Im glad they are all ok, especially the pup (dog lover) but that was just careless of everyone, and agreed... who is drunk driving at 6:30pm?!?!?!?
