Cooling/warming issues

Noticed my 94 Z34 has a warming issue. Wont climb over 135 degrees and when you open the valve on the top hose to "burp" the system nothing at all comes out. First of all do these 3.4 DOHC engines have 2 thermostats? Ive noticed what appears to be a second thrmostat housing right behind the fans on the lower side of the engine. Only thing else I can think of is the water pumps not circulating but I dont hear any odd noises and the pulley turns...

it only has one Tstat. that is just a distribution spot. some of the 5spd DOHC had an aux oil cooler that fed off of that point. these engines have many coolant passages and two bleed points. there is the one on the engine that you are seeing and there is another by the brake booster on the fire wall. these bleeder screws break all the time though. i would suggest this as a bleeding procedure... make sure your heat is set to defrost and on high. then use the normal bleed screw. i would keep checking the radiator to make sure you have it full. what temp tstat do you have? also keep in mind the DOHC has the thickest radiator that they put in these Wbodys... so it has more cooling then others. It was the L67 of its day.

Thank you for the info Ill have to give it a try. The radiator is plumb full and the overflow resevoir is at the level its supposed to be. With the radiator cap off while running you can see its making no attempt to circulate anything. As far as thermostat im not sure. Havent pulled it out yet but the car doesnt register over about 135 degrees
