Cooling system question

Done a couple of light mods on my 02 n/a grand prix, and recently it's started to get up towards 220 on long drives when it's over 90+ degrees out. I've double checked there's no air and it's not losing coolant. I've replaced almost everything in this car including the radiator, water pump, engine, heater core, overflow bottle, etc.

I'm preparing to do a top swap, but I want to keep driving it as well until then.

I know there's differences in core sizes between years and models. It looks like my n/a is the smallest at 5/8th and the largest is zzp aluminum. It looks like 04+ is 1 inch, but will those fit? What is everyone else running and recommend?

180 tstat, tune the fans
GTP have bigger radiators.

thanks man! forgot to mention I've tuned the fans already. You know if the 1" gxp radiator fits 97-03? I saw a thread on here once about a 1" sold at oriley's cheap? I've never actually seen anyone with zzp aluminum so I'm guessing it's not really necessary?

The stock gtp radiator is 1" is it not? direct swap.

If you got the ac running, heat soaking sounds normal to me. I have no ac or condenser and would be lucky to see 190 while beating it.

that's what i was thinking. Things are pretty toasty with headers. I'm thinking of getting them powder coated inside and out when I pull the engine and transmission.

Any advice on aftermarket fans? I've replaced the motors twice and they're going out again...

ceramic coated not powder coated

Few years ago when I replaced the coolant parts for ****s and giggles I went with rock auto for everything, fans work great and are strong. I still have the original oem's that work sitting in the porch.

Haha good call! You know what I meant! Lol

And yeah. I did the same thing. Still have squeaking fans though. I've taken them apart and lubricated, and replaced motors twice, but if I'm going to drop $200 on fans, it'll be nice aftermarket ones like flex a lite.My regret is i didn't know about the gtp ones being bigger.haha
