Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

cooling fan question

see whats under all that tape. is it the pic or are there 3 wires leaving the plug and only two going into the main harness there?

Its the same as before. The gauge is not going to what the temp really is. I was just wondering if it could be a relay that's halfway working catering this because I don't think a wire gone bad would allow it to work at all

id try another temp sensor. those damn things have such a bad rap its not funny. they are bad brand new in the box almost all the time. most seem to change it 2 or 3 times till they get a working one.

if you have a scanner that will show temp via the obd2 or t app, check that its showing a temp there.

The fans didn't come on!
The obd2 scanner said the same as the dash which is this

But that still seems super low. Especially since I drive for 20 minutes.

Also there were no codes and the mil is off

i was checking my temps yesterday, t app said 170 while driving, i parked and let it idle. fans came on at 185. iirc im set to 180, so i need to look at that.

need to remember its cold and engines wont get super hot like summer time. if your fans settings are stock, they wont come on till 212.

Yeah. Ill look into it more later. I'm more worried about the thermostat that opens to the rad and the coolant elbow leaking right now..

Are the aluminum elbows from zzp better?

you got a 180 t stat in the engine? if so thats your code. engine is running to cold.

you can put some card board over 1/2 the rad to make it warm up some in the cold weather. or put a 195 t stat in it.

if you have a 195 in there now, change it, sounds like it failed in the open position.

Its the stock 195. I probably do need to change it. How much would I have to drain to just do that without spilling coolant all over the engine?
