Coolant sensor

Okay so when I bought my 01 the low coolant light was on. I did a coolant flush and cleaned the sensor and it was all good. Now 5 months later I did the coolant elbows and when I started my car low coolant light was on. So I filled it up and it stayed on so I pulled it again and cleaned it and it was off. So now the light comes on whenever I start my car but when the thermostat opens the light goes off. Once in awhile it will turn on and off again but not often. Do I just need to clean it really good or do u think I need a new sensor? I'm going to the junk yard tomorrow for some other stuff so should I just pick one up? If I need a new one are there any other cars I can get it off of?

Thanks
Chris

If your coolant is truly full then I'd just grab another sensor. Any car with a 3800 should work I would think. So Regal, Monte, Impala, Bonneville etc..

Interesting, I didn't think you could clean it so the light would go off. I just unplugged mine so the light stayed off.

LS1- yeah, they get gunked up from the Dex and give false readings. I cleaned my original one when the new rad went in and it works just fine, even after 290K.
