Coolant Light

A few weeks ago my "low coolant" light came on and I put some more coolant in after checking levels. I think whatever sensor that measures the level is broken because the light goes on and off regularly. It will stay on for about 10 mins and then go off for a little bit and then come back on agian. and it doesnt matter if im moving or not, i've had it turn off and on within the lenght of a red light. Am i right to replace the sensor and does anyone know where it is?

My car does EXACTLY the same thing. I dont know how to fix it. It used to stay on all the time so I put a new sensor in. Now that it has a brand new one it does exactly what you are describing. If you fix it tell me what you did lol.

@ agentlongwood,

the sensor was pretty dirty so i cleaned it, but it didnt help.
looks like we're stuck with this light a little longer

Remove passanger side headlight assembly, reach in and unplugg sensor, light will then be off all the time. Or buy a new sensor and install.

If cleaning it did not help then you need a new one. Dexcool gunks up the sensor.
