Coolant leak problem WTF

I'm right with Matt on this one. Before we misdiagnose these things, think about where the fluid you are trying to track down can be located and where there are gaskets.

Cooling system that high up is one of two things. Either those o-rings leaked under the gasket were we can't see or the TB gasket let go internal to the intake. This means your SC will be wet inside as well. If it's not, then look over the o-rings super well under the gasket.

you know this did seem to start soon as i got my throttle body spacer... and i used paper gaskets and not the rubber ones.... :th_thumb-down:

So i just got the heads off 4 hours ago and well there not leaking, but there stock, and looks to be in good condition other then a few bad spots, but this gives me the chance to port the heads WOOHOO, but i broke my trans dipstick :( where the welded part go's on the stick, and it leaked fluid all over my floor.....

Also my Spark plugs AUTOLITE 103's Were in GREAT condition for NO tune for a year and a half on a 3.4 pulley setup. and my pistons are in great freaking shape. WOOHOO for me. should i even bother cleaning up the pistons? there Grey meaning very little carbon was built up.

What the HOLY F! I didn't see this mentioned or as a mod. You wanna know what most of us Vets call TB Spacers? InstaLeak!

Sorry to hear you pulled the head gaskets when it was clear the leak was above the heads. Hopefully you had another reason for pulling them. That's a lot of extra work to diagnose a TB spacer.

Port work :) i was going to do it anyways so i won't have to do it in the summer.

so you know for sure it wasnt the coolant that did that....

it ran fine other then the Head gasket WAS TOTALLY GONE it leaked so bad it barely ran and dumped it right into the crank case, the stuff was called blue devil and after 15 mins of running that it seized the motor and wouldnt even crank afterwards.

i told him i'd do head gaskets but he wanted to just trade it to the dealer, but they wouldnt take it with a leak.

Yeah i seen that, but thats a lot of work to do for his daily driver during the winter and cant drive his Z ;)

LOL at you pulling the heads when it was the TB >_<
Yea i knew it was the TB after looking into it, but i said screw it and went along with pulling the heads anyhow. it told me how good of condition my motor was in and if the guy i bought the engine and trans from 20k miles, and he was Telling the truth.

The Z is drivable but has ABSOLUTELY NO HEAT, its a track car. not a cruiser.

But honestly, I might as well get the head gaskets done, and porting the heads along with springs, so i will be ready for 1.9 rockers later and a intercooler during the summer, then a 3.0 pulley ;) eventually. for now i'm going for a 3.25

WOW i really let my GTP go to crap in a year poor motor lol, Anyhow i never noticed this supercharger inlet was this nasty... it didn't come with my motor, whats the easiest way to clean that CRAP litterally CRAP out of the inlet??? without taking the blower apart lol. if i have to i guess i can... but rather not its all new fluid and coupler.

And my heads are pretty damn clean. i just need to get them ported and paint them.

another thing look at the crack in the gasket, and it started to rot my supercharger pretty badly. stupid throttle body spacer, i cannot seem to find a Post on welding the intake manifold coolant holes.

Ouch, gummed up coolant on the inlet... best way to clean it is brake cleaner and a wire brush IMO, also dont use a paper gasket again for the TB get a ruber one from ZZP and use RTV when putting back on as well.
