coolant into oil question

I have a 2004 grand prix and I am having a small amount of coolant leak into my oil. From reading the forms it looks like I need to replace my LIM gaskets but is there anyway to tell that I need to replace those instead of my head gaskets? I just top swapped my car about 3 years ago so the gaskets are relatively new but I want to make sure I replace the right gaskets before I need to spend more money to redo things. Thanks for the help
 


how do you know theres coolant in the oil? is it over filled? milky looking?

and the whole coolant in the oil deal is a n/a issue not a sc issue. very rare to happen on a sc engine.
 
I have not noticed coolant turning the majority of my oil milky when I do my oil changes but always in my filler neck and on the oil cap itself it is milky. I have changed my oil twice in the past month because I have noticed this and dont want to ruin the engine,
 
I guess you have never heard of condensation have you?

Motor heats up, burns off water, motor cools down and condensation forms. Moisture goes to the highest point and thats the oil fill cap, it mixes with oil mist and turns into cheese.
 


Alright so everything is okay with that? I just figured it was coolant slowly getting in there because this has never happened before in my 5 years of owning the car. I figured it was better to be safe and change the oil than to be sorry and ruin something.
 
you just never looked before. it happens to all of us.

my freshly top swapped and all new gasket-ed engine had water under the cap in like no time. 1000 miles or less maybe.
