hi i have 1997 gp 3800 got it real cheap (knowing) thinking that it had a lim failure. got it home tore into it the lim was in bad shape. replaced upper and lower gaskets also bought the doorman replacement upper plastic intake .after putting back together tried to start it , acted like it wanted to but would not so i pulled out the plugs and they were wet .i had a old set laying around that i put in after spinning the motor over to blow out coolant .well i got it running , but it was not very smooth also was smoking out the tail pipe and then the top rad hose collapsed about then it quit running i should also mention the oil looked fine before starting but know it is all milky i drained it then then pulled upper and lower intake could see coolant in cylinders does this mean head gaskets are bad

Third, are you sure you did the LIM gasket replacement correctly? Thread sealant on the LIM bolts, that sorta thing. There is a video of a LIM replacement in the How To section, perhaps looking over that might reveal some areas some things could have gone wrong. If the oil was fine before hand, I my suspicion would be that something didnt go quite right with the work.
 


ok thanks . yes iam (fairly) sure i did everthing correctly this is my third repair of this type , thread sealant on water jacket bolts silicone at the ends of valley the problem is i picked this car up under the assumption that this repair would fix the problem but i personally dont know the guy that i bought the car from had been sitting for abought 8 months he said that it had a upper failure 2 years ago. i just dont want to give up on this motor yet but lol i just pulled the heads and they were full of coolant sooooo where am i know
