• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Convince me to stay GP (or don't)

I appreciate all the input, I always like lots of opinions when making a decision. Thing is I'm not bored with me car at all. I love my gtp, they are actually fairly rare around here so that just adds to the attraction. It's just frustrating to read negative thing after negative thing about your car and hard to think you wouldn't be better off on a different platform.

Nice gp and cobalt btw.

Tell you like I tell my wife when she says that... Who is gonna get on here and make a post saying "car been running perfect for 6 months and counting"... Answer = nobody Who's gonna get on here and ask for help with problems an complain? Answer = just about everyone that has an account and a problem. So when ya see that stuff just think about all the others that have no problems that aren't posting... Besides half the problems on here are because of mods.

The Cobalt is the only decent car you mentioned, and it's not anywhere comparable to a GP in terms of comfort. Don't get me wrong, it's faster, handles better, and gets better mileage, but rides like crap, seats are narrow(especially the Recaros) and is easily confused as domestic rice- Which is isn't... But, hey, it's your money. They're all wrong wheel drive. :)

I am in the same situation, planning to get an LS2 Goat within the next year. Only you can decide though. There's positives and negatives to both. I haven't had a problem with my 98 GTP since December of last year so I'm happy with it right now.

if youre stayin fwd id stay with the gp. there arent many other good platforms in fwd except maybe the srt4 which gets alot of **** or the cobalt. suppose theres the dsm crowd but the 4g63 can be a tricky ***** to mess with. givin all the variables i like the gp. peppy, cheap, good mpg if not lead footin it, cheap insurance, cheap and easy fix, parts are a dime a dozen, and everyone can just about work on a 3800. if you are gonna change platform id suggest awd. its what id do if i changed. but to tell you the truth every time i consider another platform and weigh everything i always end up back to the gp so...

I have different reasons for wanting a GTP then a lot of people on these forums. That being said, my vote is LSX, or 4v mod motor. Then again, since I've been here I've learned that an 03/04 Cobra is classless, and is the perfect first car for a highschool kid. I don't know, can't go wrong with LSX anything though, I think most can agree with that.
