Conrad's Racekar Z06

Actually I was just talking about the corvette engine covers :th_laugh-lol2: but a front mount turbo COULD happen down the road...that would be after heads and cam. Lumpy idle is a MUST.

Once the car is paid off (hopefully around fall), 18" C6 Z06 wheels will be purchased. I think 2010+ Camaro SS brembos will bolt up (4 piston front and 2 piston rear) which my dad conveniently has laying around...he says if they fit, I can have them- if he doesn't use them by then.

After that- heads, cam, and intake, with supporting internal mods.

Going with a head/cam/valve spring/pushrod package from Advanced Induction. Sending them my LS6 heads to be ported/polished, they'll spec me a custom cam for my goals, install new valve springs on the heads, and send me correct length pushrods for the cam. Then IIRC I'll just need a ported oil pump, LS2 timing chain, and trunnion upgrade for the stock rockers. Total cost around $2,300. Should put me a little over 450rwhp, and more if I upgrade to a FAST intake.

You will change your mind about a million times ;)

Plus i love custom cams i think its the only way to go when you know what heads and intake your going with

I have a Tony Mamo Custom grind cam in the camaro with ported 241 heads and ls6 intake, runs really good and has a nice sound!

Should be more the 450whp your already pushing over 400whp on that ls6 (if you had a proper tune) I'd hope for $2300 you'd be getting more the 50whp lol you'll probably be over 500whp

Actually, I've had this set up in mind for almost 2 years. Was going to run with that on my Camaro SS but obviously I sold it. I've done HOURS of research and this seems to be a great set up.

LOL!!!

Well, the near-new street tires (less than 500 miles I was told) are NOT gripping from any type of pull in 2nd gear, and this car isn't even tuned...I'll definitely need some radials when I get C6 Z06 wheels. This is probably the wrong place to ask, but does anyone have any recommendations on a sticky 305-35-18 tire? Maybe something like this? Amazon.com: Mickey Thompson 3785R Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial Tire: Automotive I'd PREFER a tire that doesn't wear down quickly but I'd probably be sacrificing traction.

Those mickeys would be awesome for traction but they will wear down quickly if you plan on driving on them everywhere (plus getting caught in the rain is gonna suck)

I think Nittos NT505s would last longer and have decent traction

EDIT: Those may be the best option for me. Like you said, I don't want to get stuck in the rain.

Here’s a couple shots of the rear end after 2 days of driving (probably 3 hours of some spirited driving total). Car was perfectly clean before this.

295/35 Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Just a high performance summer tire.

Lowered the front, there are lowering bolts in these cars and they were all the way down when I got the car. It wasn’t low enough so I removed them completely. Yes it’s safe to do, and it still rides great. Did a test drive and I was scraping going over most bumps :th_laugh-lol2:

This middle section is spring loaded. The side pieces flex very easy also.

There’s also a ‘skid bar’ on each side so the bumper doesn’t scrape.

Rear end still needs to come down some, I believe that’s achieved by aftermarket lowering bolts. I asked on the corvette forums to be sure.

Holy crap that's low! Looks good, but I don't know if could drive something that low. With my luck I'd get high centered going over a speed bump. Even if I did take it at an angle. Lol
