Confusion about Downpipes

So I have a little extra cash and was thinking about what things I could buy for the GP that would help performance. As of right now I only have a GT but I'm planning on doing a topswap this summer so figured why not get some supporting mods. I don't have a ton of cash so I'm going to wait till this summer when I can pull in more hours to buy all the topswap parts. I've read the safely modding your 3800 thread and the topswap thread which is why I've decided on a downpipe. My questions are...

Staying N/A for a little while will a 3" hurt or is it fine?

I've read that going catless gives a better tone so i'm going to do that. On ZZP I'm guessing the off-road pipe is the catless? Also does going without the cat make it harder to install?

On ZZP there are a couple different options to chose from before buying that I'm not so sure about. Do I need a rear O2 bung if I'm going with the off-road pipe? And do I need the front and rear gaskets?

And my last question is buying the downpipe does that solve the u-bend problem or would I have to buy the U-bend delete part?

Sorry for all the questions all at once I'm just new to the whole car modding thing and trying to learn. Thanks.

Let's see. I don't honestly know if it would make any diff. havin a 3" on an n/a car. That's what I have on my gtp. It does sound better, I know that. Its louder. U prob won't notice any diff in power from cat dp to off road. I didn't have any problem gettin mine in. Its an easy swap with simple hand tools. Just get both gaskets. Their cheap. I've heard of some people not havin any problem with the o2 sensor. I just went ahead and got the simulator anyway and I haven't had any problems. And yes, if u get one of their dp's the old u-bend is now a straight pipe. Get one. Ull enjoy it

Buy new gaskets...and RTV...just to make sure it seals...

and PB Blaster...use LOTS of PB on those exhaust bolts...start spraying them a day or two before you attempt installing the DP.

I JUST got one installed yesterday on my '03 GT. Power - WOW! My Cat was plugged-per the Check Engine light. I feel like I have a new car, a rather fast car!

From ZZ Performance I bought the 3" bolt on with Cat.

PB Blaster for a few days is a must! I had mine for me installed yesterday due to me not being able to loosen these bolts, plus some time retraints on my part. Last night I picked up my wife, she was out of town for a few days and this Car drove definitely different.
