Confused...

I checked my fluid today and it was perfect without the car running but when I shut it on it was completely dry but everything seems to be fine while driving...?

Transmission fluid is supposed to be measured with transmission up to tempurature, on a level surface, and while the vehicle is running.

when you shut it on?

Fluid should be checked with the trans warm, engine running, in park, on flat ground. If it's not reading, you need to top it off.

This is how you check the tranny fluid:

Make sure the car is warmed up (drive for 10 minutes before checking)
- Park on an even surface
- Engage E-Brake
- Turn on the car
- Shift the lever through all the gears, stopping for 3 seconds at each gear.
- Shift back to Park, let it idle for 5 minutes
- Without turning the engine off, pull out the dipstick, clean it, push it back, wait 3 seconds, pull out, check your fluid level.

Thanks, knew to check it while running just didn't know everything. Is it weird that the stick was bone dry?
