The one tail is smashed, just slap a stock on the other side and you'll be safe either way.

This is your best bet.

Insurance companies are out there to save $$$. If you have coverage, it doesn't matter as much. If not, they like to split blame and assign a % of liability to each party. In this case, they might do it so they only pay a portion of what they otherwise would. I would be very cautious. It's easier to throw a stock light on now than with you had later.

Re: GTP on a college budget. Wrecked 3/3

Thanks for the input guys. I'll definitely swap out that tail. I doubt it was because of that, I was at a complete stop behind traffic at a red light.

I'm definitely searching for a new prix or even an f-body. Not sure which route I'm going to take.

Re: GTP on a college budget. Wrecked 3/3

Plans went down the tube this morning when the insurance company called me and said they will be denying the claim because it was a hit and run with a vehicle that was reported stolen AFTER the accident.

So, it looks like I'm going to start gathering some parts and try my best to get her straightened out and rebuilt as time goes on.

So on that note, I'm currently looking for the following if anyone has them they would be willing to ship or are close by I've got some pay checks saved up.
Trunk Lid and spoiler
The struts for the lid
Passenger side tail light
Rear bumper
Lower part of trunk latch
Possibly more as I tear it apart.

Located in Colorado.

By the way, thanks for the support guys. Never wanted to see my GP like this.

Re: GTP on a college budget. Wrecked 3/3

Fight that company bro, maybe all of the forum can come together to try and help you out. I will see what I can do once I get back in Louisiana.

Re: GTP on a college budget. Wrecked 3/3

Sad story man. Sorry to hear about that. If you only have liability Im not sure that there is much that your insurance would do for you but if you have full coverage they should pay for it. Good luck.

Re: GTP on a college budget. Wrecked 3/3

Does anyone have any legal experience by chance? I'm trying to verify if I have a good enough case to go after the registered owner of the other vehicle. I have two police reports that don't seem to have matching statements from the other party.

Re: GTP on a college budget. Wrecked 3/3

Well guys, I'm currently in the process of taking the registered owner to court. In the mean time, I thought it was time to put a tuned PCM in just to enjoy her again. Also did some hand straightening on the back, looking for a decent priced trunk lid then I'll be doing okay.

Took her out for a cruise today. Atleast the front still looks good.

Re: GTP on a college budget. Wrecked 3/3

Well, I'm trying not to let the rear end bug me. A buddy gave me a K&N. Got that put on, then got a good deal on ZZP wires and got some gauges in it.

Re: GTP on a college budget. Wrecked 3/3

Just a FYI on that aeroforce, you can't have it set up to read "Boost".

You need to have the scangauge read the MAP sensor because we have a 2 bar map.

So change it to MAP in/hgs or MAP hgs/in, its one of those two, it will tell you vacuum and boost. Vacuum will show in negative numbers or around -19 to -20 at idle with no vac leaks.

Re: GTP on a college budget. Wrecked 3/3

Sounds good. That makes more sense to me. Appreciate the heads up. I got the boost gauge hooked up so I'm just watching KR and tranny temps for now.

On KR. I've read up on it a lot, kinda makes sense on where to go. I'm getting about 4* at 1-2 shift WOT. From my understanding from here I probably need headers to get that number down?
