cant decide weather to get a k&n cold air intake or zzp cold air intake. what do you guys run on your 3800 SC?

$20 9" dry cone filter on the end of the throttlebody, make holes for the stuff plugged into your stock intake tubing. Some people fab up some PVC piping to make it pretty.

i found just some chromed tube on craigs list for $10 drilled a hole for the air plug thing that was in the stock tube and put a cone filter on

its kinda hidden in the pic its between the air filter and tube the heat sheild is covering it up btw the heat sheild came from a kit for a truck and i ground it to fit around the bar and theres a groove at the bottom that all the wires go through and i cut the old air box and left the tray tht the pcm(i think its the pcm i could be wrong) sits on and added a screw to hold it down better i also had to extend the black tube thing to make it reach correctly ill get a pic of both posted for ya

btw theres not much difference in the 04 and 02

Oh, you're right.

Wait, I mean wrong. The MAF sensor's in the tb and you need a hole for the IAT sensor. Outside of having to drill an extra hole, this results in a cheaper and easier intake than 04+ guys typically wind up with, since they need more couplers due to the external MAF. 97-03 can make a "short-ram" with a 9" filter, which 04+ cannot.

I know that it's quite similar, broadly, but when you need to ask a forum about just doing an intake, these details are very important.
