Even by the end of that thread, the main antagonists against the WizAir shutup when they realize the HP gain with the K&N is all guesstimate and never actually dyno'd, while the WizAir is a proven custom design for the W-body which is dyno'd. I fail to see what you hope to prove.

Overall, that thread shows more people have the knowledge to step up and back their vote for the Wizair than just voting for the K&N and giving no supporting evidence.
 


I see 22 hp claims, that would only be true if the stock box was almost plugged shut, most real tests show less than 5 hp gains on any system (using track numbers as dyno numbers may not get the full results of moving air) which is better is a matter of opinion only (I don't like the k&n filter myself due to the marketing ploys)

I agree, the K&N is way overpriced for what you get (received mine as a gift) I would not pay simply for the K&N name. I only stated what I've read elswhere on the wizair. The best and least expensive approach is a DIY intake. There are tons of write-ups from the most basic to building you own box.

Not sure of what bug is up "Sabrewings" a$$. I guess it makes you feel powerful or some sh!t makeing wise-ass snide remarks.

Like I'm sure you feel more manly by bypassing a language filter to express yourself.

Put simply, you push on an issue which you have no first hand experience with, then try to back it up with nothing but a poll and comments from more people who have no first hand experience. It's nothing more than wasting space in this thread.

Then you try to play it off like you're on someone else's side...

i think the wizard is good for what it is tho...AWESOME concept and with a few at home modifications its a relly good design and fuctioning intake..the performance is there as well as a "CAI" box. imo.
 


Well I just placed my order at ZZPerformance for the Wizaird and a PCM. I hope to have it here either Wednesday or Thursday. I want to get it all installed before I take my car on a trip this weekend. What is the install time usually for this?
 
WizAired didn't take me 30 minutes start to finish. A PCM will take about 30 minutes because of the security relearn. Also, you may need a CASE learn.
 


Security relearn allows the PCM to learn itself to your car's security system. This is required when the PCM wasn't originally installed in your car, or has since been installed in someone else's.

CASE (crank angle sensor error) learn is for the variances in the crank sensing system. It's slightly different for each car and the PCM needs to learn these variations. Most cars are close enough that it doesn't matter. If it's enough variance from what the PCM is used to, then it will throw a check engine light. Even if you don't get a light, it doesn't hurt (and is a good idea) to do the CASE learn.
 
What is all involved in both of those? How hard is it to do them?

Security relearn you can do yourself. All you need is your key and 30 minutes. Like I just told another member, search the PCM section and you'll find how.

CASE learn requires a Powrtuner (or maybe a HPT), a Aeroforce gauge, or Tech 2 type of computer.
