• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Cold Air Inductions INC. CAI

Well the whole kit is over priced for the next to nothing gains. Only good part about it....the nice clean looks

And a solid aluminum bar to replace your stock fender braces is over priced for the next to nothing gains as well. Not every dollar someone spends on their car goes to enhance performance. Some also go for looks. If they want to buy a CAI aqs this, then why argue that it adds no horsepower, and just say "Sure looks better than that big ugly chunk of black plastic that was there before."

Me personally, I think it looks alot better than what was there before. I have gone myself with the "Home Depot" WAI setup for now, and I think it looks better than stock as well. I bought a black 45 degree "elbow", so there was no need to paint it. And, because I'm cheap, medically retired and unable to work, I am planning on using my free time to build an intake such as the OP's from scratch. If you don't like something that someone posts, then just keep it to yourself, and think of it as one more thing you don't want to do to your car.

Hmmm, I wonder if they make a 3D printer big enough to print these things? :th_scratchhead: :th_lightbulb:

It's a public forum. When someone posts up anything, they have the chance of hearing negative opinions. If someone doesn't have thick enough skin to take negative opinions, then they should stay away from the internet.

Opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one and everyone knows one. (And I'm proud to be one)

Trolling.....its a fun thing to do

No, the next to nothing gains w............Truncated post......its name COLD AIR INDUCTION. The quality of this kit is in its own category and the air flow is crazy, I mean look at the opening of this CAI pure air just rushing in while cold as can be and seal from engine heat.
20130726_210913_zpsb1e30ab8.jpg
Nice filter:8 layer interwoven cotton filter (industry standard is 4-6 layers)
Large radius base with a engineered tube stop gives air flow a smooth
..............more truncation................you pay for what you get. While it may not be the best it damn sure isn't the worst....
The stock setup pulled air through the F===ing headlight for gods sake. People can argue K&N and CAI's don't work, but this system, in this particular car has to be light years above pulling air through a headlight assembly.

It pulls air from the exact same spot. :\

Try again. The old school rat ones were the only true cai that pulled from the fender well area with the box still in the engine bay.

You work on your car in the sun? Poor guy. Someone needs garage space...

Here's my garage space, plenty of it.....and I'm far from poor, but hey thanks anyway!!!! Now here's a small tour...

[/IMG] Funny, my car never sits in the sun on any given day. LOL, neither one does

You seriously think the sun shining on your PCM is more heat than it gets on a hard drive on a curvy road?

I think you are just a little pissed that everyone is throwing out facts proving that you wasted your money.

BTW, my PCM has been free of the airbox for about 2 years now with ZERO ill effects.

The money, no problem I could buy ten of those CAI's and it wouldn't set me back at all.
I could take a PCM apart and put it back together and send it to you with a custom tune if you requested it so im sure that I know the PCM encounters more heat under driving conditions . Again, apparently the member that asked the question needed an answer so I gave him one that he could understand. By the way my LS hasn't had a box in it since 06'(that's over 7yrs by the way a lil more than 2yrs), still held down by the same zip tie and haven't had a problem yet. So I know, like I said the PCMs are constructed to handle the abuse.

And again, no money wasted. I'm seeing a few more MPG's, and the motor is loving the closer to ambient air in stop n go traffic. I did it more for looks than I did for any power, I was just repeating what the site claimed.

All the fastest grand prixs have been open cone. Fastest supercharged grand prix was open cone. a box is just extra weight and a constrictor of air.

They look cool, thats all.

Also sun shining on PCM while working on it... Lol.

Just a figure of speech, just throwing it out there.....Hey, but sun beaming on anything for a while could heat up pretty well.

I had it custom made by a guy from New Jersey, and I appreciate your comment. It does compliment the engine bay very well......Thanks!!!!

Sarcasm and your own opinion is two different things. Don't go on someone's thread down grading what they posted up just bc you don't agree with it. I mean what if you made a thread that you thought would be beneficial to the forum but then someone comes on your thread and pretty much just ****sss on it. Im just saying.

Hey not once have I ever denied our stock intake. Our stock intake sits in the most perfect spot as it comes. I loved my stock intake for years on my GS, all I did was gut and drop in a K&N filter as that's all was needed. Again, I did this mainly for the looks and anything extra that was offered by this CAI then so be it. Here's my gutted with K&N intake, I will never give this thing up and will always have it sitting up in the storage over the garage with the other one that I have for future usage if need be.
