Hi guy's. I just got a nice set of Moog Fe3 coil spring for my GP to replace the ****ty ride eibach, and now i'm not able to compress the spring enough ... It's the front coil spring ... i'm afraid about the back.

I dont know what to do. It's not the first time i compress spring with this tool and never had any problem since today.

This is the spring compressor i use ...

Dude. Seriously. They should not bend. Throw that garbage out before you kill yourself with it.
Go to advance auto parts. Throw $20 down and rent a good set of spring compressors.

You you can either keep the good set or return them and get your deposit back.

the good sets usually have a safety retainer pin and the threads are part of the hook forgings.

some of the "nice" sets can have **** acme threaded rods but even those shouldnt have a problem with galling if you grease em

Step one: Drive to another country.

But seriously, that is the current Canadian tire compressor that is available for purchase. The one they have for rental is a little more heavy duty.

If you're in Quebec, there aren't any partsources to rent from, just CTC.

Could always be cheap and unscrew the nut with the full weight of the car on the ground disconnect the sway bar end links and then jack the car up and take off the strut.

Success. With 4 spring compressor. Damn , i miss something or w-body oem spring are very hard to install ?

With the spring on , the top plate is hard to turn. Like it have a massive pressure on the bearing. Normal ?

They still do that? neither AutoZone nor O'Reilly had them for rent, both stating liability issues.
