Coil Pack Issue/Question...

Primal

Hey All!

So, I'm doing plugs and wires here as I wrap up the LIM Gasket job and I see that terminal 5 is all rusted and 2 doesn't look as shiny as the terminals on the other packs. I was going to just Scotch-Brite the terminal and reassemble, but I'm wondering now if there's an issue with this coil pack. It looks possibly dead to me.

I have the plugs below also. The plug from #5 definitely doesn't look as dark as the others. It's fired for sure, but it's not like the others. I have 2 and 6 pictured for comparison.

Do I need to replace the 2/5 coil pack, all the coils or what?

Thanks!

Well you can just replace the 1 pack with the oem replacement if you like but since your not saying anything about codes then its really up to you.

Yeah, I was going to mention that, to my knowledge, there were no codes. This is my mom's old car. She owned it since new. She got a new car and I "inherited" this one. As far as I know, there were no codes in the info center. I don't have a scan tool though, so I have no idea what that would say.

I'd just clean them up and use some di-electric grease so water can't get to them again.

I don't see a huge problems with the plugs, they kinda just look worn out to me.

OK, so I guess I'll just clean them up and run it to see what happens. I'll probably change them later, but it's not like I have to do it now or repeat a lot of work. They're on top :-P

Thanks, guys!

plug 5 looks like it never fired. almost new, id clean the coil tips up with steel wool, grease them all and see how it runs with new wires and plugs.
