01 impala with 4t65e trans, after torque converter and valve body replaced. after driving about 30 miles converter stays locked up and check engine light comes on get a code po742. after clearing the code it works great than does the same thing. other than this the trans works great.:th_scratchhead: can anyone tell me if the reman converter could be the issue?? never had this problem till i replaced the converter and valve body.

took car in to trany shop they did a scan and road test the torque converter would kick in and out when cold and would lock op hard. the tech reset the tap and said the conveter had a intirnal leak an dneeded to be replaced. now the trans works great until the converter stays locked up and the ck engine lite comes on, it will stay that way til i clear the code.i replaced the valve boby at the same time because he said i could have a issue in it to and it was under warranty.
