code P0171 keeps coming back

I dont know if anybody else is having this problem. but like 2 weeks ago my engine light came on, and my car was lagging pretty bad. so i got it scanned by my local mechanic and he said i needed new 02 censors. so i bought the parts and had my boyfriend install them for me. within 15 miles of ths installation my service engine light came on again. so i bought a scanner and the code P0171 came up. running lean. how do I fix this problem? could it be my injectors? also like 5 months ago i replaced my fuel filter.
 


if your problem started not long after your fuel filter was installed check to make sure you didn't have in backwards.
 
the problems stated like 2 weeks ago and the fuel filter has been in for like 5 months. its scary driving it since i have to take the freeway to work and i can barely get my GPSE up to speed limit before i get off the on ramp.
 
Check these other things. Or tell him to.
