Cobalt SS/TC vs 04+ GTP

its got the 462 now.but no insurance or registration. with proper traction and me doing my part it should run low 11's

I'd still rather have a grandpa's car than a girl's car.

My GP at the time had a 3.0" with E85 on bald no-season tires.
Cobalt has full exhaust and tune.

What did it run/trap?

And with a TBE + tune vs...E85 conversion, cam install, IC, headers, etc. etc...he probably hasn't spent more than $500~ on his mods.

Ya i agree with you guys i the HHR is considered as a SUV which i dont want, that thing is ugly nows that i look at it, and its FWD slow crap. The GTP is better with a Auto 4 Speed S/C and faster stock and waaaayyyy the hell better looking

Actually, I'm sure stock for stock the LNF HHR is faster than a GTP, especially up top.

What are you getting at here?

Im talking about the HHR auto, the shift might be faster or even but im only going from what it says on paper not from acutally see a stock for stock race.

They still run pretty quick regardless...and the stage 1 setups run high 13's still. Even auto. Traps look to be around 110 give or take a few MPH.

2004 Grand Prix GTP CompG @ 10 psi ::: cam, headers, intercooler, 3.0 mps

2009 Cobalt SS/TC @ 21 psi ::: intercooler, intake, full exhaust

Run One:::
GP 13.147 @ 108.34 MPH w/ 2.170 60'
Cobalt 13.630 @ 112.90 MPH w/ 2.406 60'

Run Two:::
GP 13.140 @ 110.79 MPH w/ 2.240 60'
Cobalt 13.445 @ 113.33 MPH w/ 2.337 60'

Run Three:::
GP 13.026 @ 111.06 MPH w/ 2.177 60'
Cobalt 13.565 @ 112.57 MPH w/ 2.348 60'

A few things needed to happen there...

1) Track Prep
2) Tire Mod
3) That thing would be running well into the 12's with a 2.0 or lower 60.
4) Same with you :D

So, what did we establish here? The GP is a nicer, more desirable car, and the Cobalt is faster. We already knew this.

Cobalt is faster because it's made entirely of a turbo and LEGO's.

I know I've covered this in the past.

I dont care if the cobalts are faster. Riding around in one is like riding in a tin can econobox.

I'm glad someone that likes Cobalts finally came right out and said it. If I liked Cobalts I'd have one. If I wanted a car simply because it was faster than my GP, I'd have one of those. I bought my GP because it is what it is and it is what I wanted..

Looking at the Cobalt and GP, the Cobalt will be faster because its smaller, the technology is better since they still make them where as Ponitac has gone bye bye. if they were in bussiness then maybe may have made a better GP, wait it think they did its called a G8GT but i think the G8 is our of its class. Saw on youtube a G8 GT beat a Cobalt SS that had Stage 2, but i think the SS was S/C not T/C. Also the Cobalt has better shifting i think too, So i think the LNF>3800 BUT they both are better then other cars of its class. I think

About the auto HHR yes i saw a chevy forum were a guy did that and got a time of 14.1 on the HHR with a trap of i think 109MPH. Then i read a the shift could get a mid 13 sec on the 1/4 mile, with a good driver that is. As far as saftey i think both cars will fair well in a accident like the one you showed of the Cobalt.

I like the Cobalt but i think id rather have a little slower but cooler GP, If it takes me more mods on the GP to beat a cobalt so be it. I like the GP what can i do/say.
