• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

cluster fu****!!

Ive had this 97 grand prix for about 2 weeks now.It starts good, shifts decent, and seems to run ok.It does have quite a few things that need fixing and maintainance on.I was already aware that the gas gauge in the cluster did not work and what it was going to take to fix it.Now it appears i have another cluster issue, the RPM gauge apparently is working when it wants too. Most times the gauge goes up and down as you give it gas,but on one whole trip it never went off of zero(and we know it should at least be on the 1 while its running). So does it sound like replacing the cluster itself will fix that, and how hard is this to do?How much cost?

Replacing the cluster is easy.

Pop the dash off (held on only by metal clips) Be forceful, it's okay.

Take out 4 little screws, and then unplug the connectors at the back of the cluster

Put the new cluster in, in the reverse order.

Should be able to get one cheap. $50 or so, I'd imagine.

Thanks machinegunsquid. And thanks curt,i couldnt resist haha.Glad to know not too bad too replace.Any idea who i should order from?Does give me one thought though. I believed originally that the gas gauge not working was due possibly to a faulty fuel level sensor, but now that the RPM gauge has acted up it could all be due to that cluster
