Clunking when letting off gas.

There is a clunking sound in rhythm with the rate of the wheel spinning i let off the gas. It never makes a peep accelerating. If you are coasting it will clunk until you touch the gas and then it instantly goes away. While coasting and clunking if I were to turn the wheel to the right the clunking would go away too.

I cant really pin point where the sound is coming from. I have put the car on jack stands and rolled the wheels in neutral. No issues then. I did notice a good amount of grease piled up from a inner boot on my passenger cv axle. I thought it might be the cv axle but it seems complete oposite of everything i read about cv axle noise. If it was a cv axle then it would make noise while turning and acceleration. Also replaced the sway bar with a used one my donor car.

You've gotta get under the front end and check things out. If you're not sure what's going on, take it to a shop. I do know Pep Boys does a steering and suspension eval for $20.
