climbing strawberry plants.

so a while back i ordered them climbing strawberrys, only they dont climb on their own of course. but they do put out 40 inch runners. you can either let then hang over the pot, or weave em up a trellis. so i made one to keep em off the ground.

did the pot on the left last week, all the leaves have turned up to the sun already. looked kinda sad with upside down leaves lol just finished the other pot today.

these damn things had best put out. being the runners are all in the sun now they should really take off. ive got 6 plants per pot.

Are those like traveling Wilburys? Or have I tuned in to the Scotty's Patio Gardening Hour? Lol. Wild strawberries grow in my yard, I mow 'em.

all i know is i want home grown berrys, ( i miss my old patch i had years ago) i started a little late, but who knows, theres always next year cause they should survive the winter here.

i used to just pick and eat em back in the day. had to beat the ants to them back then, no ants on my balcony lol i could walk out almost daily and pick 30 of em easy.

these from th epics ive seen, should be crazy.

if they end up anything like this ill be happy

Birds might find them. If they do you could mess with their heads by stringing some crunch berries on the plants.

ill net the balcony off then, fuk them birds, no free meals on me. dont have much other then pigeons landing on the balcony's. dont think they eat berrys lol

That's what I wondered, if they even eat those. They have balcony access though if they wanted. Reckon you'll find out.

Looks nice!! I tried strawberries in those topsy turvy things and they didn't work out very well. We have wild strawberries that do well, if only my son would stop weed wacking them :/ The birds get my raspberries and blueberries before I can. I need to net them next year. I planted two dwarf apple trees this year so I'm hoping those do well.

my friends back yard used to be filled with trees, 2 peach trees, a fig and cherry tree, he tore them all out in favor of a real yard lol his two brothers both have the same trees in their yards, drop more fruit then they can all eat as it is.

out at work i scored some raspberry's, some super sweet cherry tomatoes lol yup right off the vine. i could not resist them. sorry john Q customer. the neighbors peach tree cracked and fell over, im guessing due to weight, it was so full of peaches. needless to say i score handful's of peaches asap. aka first pick. they might be small but they are so juicy and sweet after letting them ripen of course.

I had 1 growing, then the flood, now it does nothing. Atleast the raspberries put out crazy this year.
