cleaning up the outside

i'm pretty sure this is simple just want extra advice. i was looking at removing the pin striping from my car and also the badging just cause i want a cleaner look on my outside. what's the best way y'all recommend removing it?

pin stripe get the eraser that 3m makes that goes in a drill, works great, badges use some fishing line and then the eraser

Hit the stripe and especially the emblems with a heat gun first and it will make your life much easier. Then use dental floss and "floss off" the emblems. Once they are off just clean the area up with some goo gone or a light duty adhesive remover. Don't forget to polish and wax where the emblems were! For the stripe, the 3m eraser is probably the best bet.

as for the badges on the side of the car they are just glued on correct?

They are stuck on with 2 sided tape really, fishing line is the best idea to use to get them off.

u got me but pry the emblems off with a screw driver worked for me

Ummm, Don't use a screw driver. GTOJOE90, it might have worked for you, but the chance of scratching the paint is very high and would defeat the purpose of looking more "clean."

Yes the side emblems are just a two sided tape. And a couple ppl mentioned fishing line and that would work just as well as floss. I just brought up floss since you can get a ton of it for free at the dentist :D

so if i use floss to take off the emblems there wont be any messed up paint or anything right? It should just be the same color as the door correct?

correct it wont hurt your paint, you will actually see a very light shadow where it used to be, thats when u break out the polish
