Cleaning coolant overflow ......

buy a new one dude. i tried everything to clean mine. its literally impossible without cutting it open, scrubbing it with a wire brush, then putting it back together. you wont clean it.

good thing that I wait until now to do this:th_shakinghead2:... going to try the stealership tomorrow. Just don't want to mix my new coolant with that crap in there. Figure drain, water, drain, water, drain, cleaner, drain, water, drain, coolant..... that should do it.

Didn't even cross my mind when I ordered from ZZP last week.....F it I'm getting a Hardee's thickburger!!

i got lucky mine has minimal build up in the tank when i switched to green.

Coolant Reservoir costs about $50 at the stealership.

Would the powerwash at a car wash remove the residue?
Soda Blasting?
CLR Remover?

ok since noone has posted,

take a old rag, soak it with brake clean, stuff the rag in the overflow, and shake the crap out if it. then the corners, a long screwdriver or whatever will clear up the rest.

i have done this on many cars to get the bottle looking new again

^X2. I just did mine this past weekend. Stuff a rag in it, spray the sh*t out of it with brake cleaner and use a long screwdriver and then a coat hanger to get around the center piece. Then rinse with water. Works like a charm...

I only know of 1 way to clean the inside of that container and it will make it look like new. Go in your kitchen and get some coffee....yes coffee. Put in enough coffee grinds for a pot of coffee and enough water for a cup of coffee. Then shake it.....well make sure you cover the opening first. Trust me...it works
